Bolly Buzz: Team ’83 pays a tribute to Yashpal Sharma; Suneil Shetty crushes rumours of Delta variant of Covid-19 in his building | Hindi Movie News

From Team ‘83 paying tribute to the late cricketer Yashpal Sharma to Suniel Shetty crushing rumours about the covid-case in his building and Naseeruddin Shah saying Dilip Kumar didn’t do enough for cinema – here are all the top headlines of the day in our daily segment Bolly Buzz.

The untimely demise of former cricket player Yashpal Sharma has come as a rude shock to the entire cricket and film fraternity. The cricketer was eagerly awaiting the release of Kabir Khan’s ‘83 that would see Jatin Sarna take on his role on-screen. On hearing of his passing, team ’83 joined fans in paying tribute to the star and honouring his memory. While Ranveer Singh shared a photo of the cricket legend with a heartbroken emoticon, Jatin said in a statement, “It has been a terrible morning … Kabir Khan just called me and so did Kapil Dev’s daughter. They are absolutely shocked.” He also went on to say that had it not been for the pandemic, Yashpal would have seen the film by now.

On the other side of town, Naseeruddin Shah seemed to have raised quite a few eyebrows when he said that Dilip Kumar didn’t do enough for cinema, except for acting. Going on to explain this in great detail, Shah pointed out that Kumar produced only one film, didn’t direct any film, never passed on the benefit of his experience to another actor, didn’t groom young talent and apart from his pre-1970s performances, left behind no significant lessons for future actors. Let us all just cross our fingers and hope this doesn’t turn into something nasty.

Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty turned rumour buster and shot down reports of alleged Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus being detected in his building. Admitting that there was a covid case in the residential building, he said “People, pls don’t spread panic. There’s NO ‘Delta Variant’ in my building society. Just one COVID+ case & the patient is recuperating at a hospital.”
