Get ready to ‘toss a coin to your Witcher’, because the Henry Cavill starrer has a tentative new release date.

Latest reports on various online portals confirm that the highly anticipated season 2 of the hit fantasy drama is slated to arrive late 2021. The series is an adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels and premiered in December 2019. This was among the few series that got renewed for a season 2 even before the first season aired on OTT platforms.

Based on the series of novels by Polish author Sapkowski, ‘The Witcher‘ follows the story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

Henry Cavill leads the cast as the enhanced monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, alongside Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri.

“We cannot wait to show you what Geralt, and Ciri, and Yennefer, and Jaskier, and all of your favourites have been up to since we left them at the Battle of Sodden Hill. There are plenty of new characters and storylines, and of course, monsters, to explore as well, as we dig into the Blood of Elves and beyond,” showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich on wrapping up the 158-day shoot early this month.

Owing to the covid-induced lockdown and few crew members testing positive, filming for the show was halted twice, leading to delays in airing the second season.
