Robert Downey Jr marks 2 years of ‘Avengers: Endgame’; shares BTS clip of deleted soul world scene with Katherine Langford | English Movie News

As ‘Avengers: Endgame’ clocked two years of its release, Robert Downey Jr. best known for playing Iron Man, aka Tony Stark, treated fans to a never before seen BTS clip from the film.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor wrote, “Cannot believe it’s been two years since Endgame… #LoveYouAll3000.”

The clip sees him standing amidst a green-screen setting and snapping his finger. It is only after the camera pans that you get to see a girl in red standing behind him. Although the actress behind is not clearly visible, it was revealed last year that Robert shot an alternate ending scene with ’13 Reasons Why’ actress Katherine Langford.

The scene in question seems to be from the soul world, where Tony meets a grown-up version of his daughter after the snap kills him. This was the same place that Thanos meets the younger version of his daughter, Gamora following the events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.

Although it was an emotional reunion scene, it never made the final cut as the test audience reportedly found it ‘confusing’.

‘Avengers: Endgame’ marked the end of a decade-long plot that started with ‘Iron Man’ and spanned over 22 films in the MCU. The movie became the highest-earning film of all time but was dethroned from the No. 1 spot after James Cameron re-released his film ‘Avatar’ in theatres after covid-19 restrictions were eased in parts of the world. The film earned an estimated USD 2.79 billion at the global box office.

Marvel is now set to roll out Phase 4 of the MCU with Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’, followed by films like ‘Spider Man: No Way Home’, ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ among many others. The studio also recently confirmed that ‘Captain America 4’ is currently in the works.
