Rs five lakh stolen from Nashik currency press | Nashik News

NASHIK: The Currency Note Press in Nashik has lodged a police complaint against “unidentified worker(s) or staff or security personnel” for stealing a 1,000-note bundle of Rs 500 denomination, totalling Rs 5 lakh, some time before June 29.
“We have taken this complaint very seriously and directed Upnagar police to thoroughly investigate and solve the case,” Nashik city police commissioner Deepak Pandey told TOI.
Police issued a press release stating that an FIR had been registered under section 381 (theft by clerk of servant of property in possession of master) of the IPC on the basis of the complaint lodged by CNP’s assistant manager (legal) Amit Satish Sharma. Assistant police inspector S B Khadke will probe the case.
“Since no outsider can enter the printing press, someone from the packaging bay section of the CNP or any other CNP employee is suspected to be involved in the theft,” the release quoted Sharma as saying.
