Yuva Sena leader Rahul Kanal, who is coordinating with Salman, had told a news portal that the actor had expressed concern for the police officers, BMC staff and health workers on duty, as most shops are shut and the grocery stores are also functioning in the stipulated four-hour window. Kanal revealed that within 24 hours of their conversation, loaded food trucks set out to distribute food. As part of a three-week, food packages that include tea, mineral water, a pack of biscuits, and snacks (upma, poha, vada pav or pav bhaji) are being distributed to the COVID-19 workers.
Last year when Salman Khan was at his farmhouse during the lockdown, the actor had donated food supplied to those living near his Panvel farmhouse. In a video posted on social media, Salman was seen loading bullock carts and tractors with essentials. Jacqueline Fernandez, Iulia Vantur and Waluscha De Sousa among others had joined his initiative.
