“We need to beat this virus,” says Priyanka Chopra as she sets up a fundraiser for COVID crisis in India

Priyanka Chopra, in a bid to do her bit for the COVID-19 crisis in India, has set up a fund raiser to contribute towards the efforts for the fight against the novel coronavirus. In a video message that she shared on social media, Priyanka urged that everyone must unite as a global community.

“India, my home, is suffering the world’s worst Covid crisis, and we all need to help! People are dying in record numbers. There is illness everywhere, and it’s only continuing to spread and kill at great speed and scale,” shared the actress and revealed that the fundraiser she has set up will directly benefit the healthcare physical infrastructure which includes Covid care centres, isolation centers, oxygen generation plants, medical equipment and vaccine support. Priyanka revealed that Nick and she have already contributed to the case. “We have all seen how far and wide this virus can spread, an ocean between us makes no difference. No one is safe unless everyone is safe. It’s so heartening to see so many people stepping up to help in so many ways. We need to beat this virus, and to do that requires ALL of us. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!” concluded Priyanka.

Recently, Priyanka had also urged her followers to register for the vaccine and stressed on the benefits of vaccination. However, when a Twitter user had commented on her post that people need more oxygen supply, beds and ventilator instead of vaccines, Priyanka had replied, “Yes, we need all of these tools to save lives. The only way to stop the spread of the virus in India is by building collective immunity through vaccines.”
